Emergency Paediatric First Aid course - 1 Day Training
The First Aid for Schools training is first rate if you require teachers and other staff to have a certificate in first aid that puts an emphasis on the key illness and injuries found in the school/teaching environment. For all those who attend and complete the course will gain a certificate in attendance for “First Aid for Schools” which will include CPR training. This is a one day course lasting for 6 hours contact time but timings can be flexible and will fit in with school policy, you may wish to have 2 three hour sessions for example.
Course Content:
- Checking vital signs
- Incident management
- The Primary Survey
- Airway management + SAP (Recovery position)
- CPR – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Adult & child)
- Choking
- Bleeding
- Shock
- Anaphylaxis and the use of auto injector/epipen
- Asthma and seizures
- Common playground injuries
Assessment:
Assessment is through on-going observation by the trainer throughout the first aid for schools course, there are no written tests or MCQ with this course.
Certification:
All successful candidates will receive a certificate from the awarding body First Aid Awards (FAA) which will be valid for 3 years.
